Total 360 Karate
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn, it's the journney not the destination
This is the Total 360 Karate page. Total 360 Karate is based on the Chito Ryu style of karate and focuses on fundamentals, respect, honor, integrity, and fitness for karate. Total 360 Karate has been in Prescott Valley for over 5 years. Total 360 Karate is available for ages 5 and up, and parents can take the class with their children. Total 360 Karate is led and created by Sensei Rodgers. Sensei Sidebottom, Shodan J. Whiting, and Shodan C Whiting. Our dojo is located in Prescott Valley. During the summer, it is at the Prescott Valley Civic Center field in the winter, it is at the Boys and Girls Club of Prescott Valley.

Our Story
Total 360 karate comes from Dr. Chitose, who created the style on the Okinawan islands. Dr. Chitose brought the training to mainland Japan as one of the main styles of karate. Dr. Chitose taught Hanshi Domenitrich, who created the US Chito Ryu Association. Chito Ryu karate is considered a hard style of karate.
Sensei Rodgers achieved his black belt in 2011 under Sensei Carpenter, Sensei Highsmith, and Sensei Bunting out of Port City Karate in Savannah, GA. They were taught by Sensei Fleetwood. The original style taught to Sensei Rodgers was Chito Kai (a subdivision of Chito Ryu). The style was primarily taught in the East US during the 1980s and 90's. Chito Kai is a split-off of Chito Ryu karate and uses all the same katas. Sensei Rodgers brought Chito Ryu back around as the base art to honor the legacy of Dr. Chitose. Total 360 Karate was born in 2011, when Sensei Rodgers opened the studio at the Tumbleweed Recreation Center in Chandler, Arizona. Total 360 Karate moved to Flagstaff and then settled in our home in Prescott Valley. The first studio was taught in a small aerobics room. Our studio has grown from 4 students in Prescott Valley to around 40 students in total. Total 360 uses fitness concepts, adaptable teaching, and martial arts to help students bring discipline, build a sports base, and help continue the legacy of Karate. We currently have 6 black belts in the dojo, including Sensei Rodgers. Sensei Rodgers achieved his 2nd Dan in 2025.
