Total 360 yoga Blog The mind is a truly unstable yet beautiful aspect of the body. Welcome to the March 2026 Total Yoga Blog. This blog will discuss the power, uncertainty, and stability of the mind. When you think about the mind, most people focus on what they think. Some turn it into a spiritual thing to say it’s powerful beyond measure. Some further say we have no control. The human mind is built in a way that elevates our bodies for survival, adaptability, and creativity, yet it is also one of our greatest weaknesses. The human mind is an ocean full of potential, calm yet can become raging. The mind gives us truths but also feeds us lies. The ocean is bedded with many creatures, as is the mind. Thoughts constantly go through the mind, and if left unchecked, can cause you to do things you wouldn’t normally do.

The mind needs guidance, focus, and training to build it to its highest potential. What is that potential? Individually, the potential lies within each of us. Our goals may be different, but everything we need to get there is already within each of us. We have to tap into the mind to get where we want to be.

Athletes use the mind for imagery, motivation, and elevation while in training. Martial artists use the mind for balance, control, and discrimination. Yogis use the mind to find the connection to Yoga and the purity within.

No two minds are the same. We can help each other on the path with ideas like meditation, mindfulness, motivation, and therapy. We bounce ideas off other minds. We can read books to try to figure out where we are or want to be. Maybe we are seeking to understand the world we live in.

The winds of societal expectations can turn the mind into a hurricane. I am not good enough. Why haven’t I gotten the job? What’s wrong with me? These are all things I am sure everyone at one time has thought. What if I were to tell you that we can calm the mind like a serene lake through non-attachment, meditation, clearing our minds, understanding we are whole and complete? These concepts build balance. When the mind is balanced, we make smart decisions. We can think and help others when necessary.

The mind is the sea of our body; it stretches long, vast territories, and yet sometimes we sit in only one spot. We don’t see our true potential because we are content with where we are. What brought us here to limit ourselves? Why are we only here and not there? Even in this blog discussion, the ideas of the mind become vast.

The storms of life will come; how big they become is up to us. We can choose to live in suffering for the past or anxiety for the future, or we can be present with non-attachment ideals to where we are now. Everything is important; let our seas be calm today. Namaste.
