Welcome, this is the PYB breakdown page. PYB was the original class I created to incorporate three distinct facets of training into one that helps most athletes. PYB stands for Pilates, Yoga, and Balance. These areas are the three most often overlooked or underworked elements in an athlete's development. The incorporation of these elements is something that helps add recovery, improve coordination and build the core. 

 

The core element for any athlete is an essential block to build any power. By working the core muscles, you build a defense system to protect your back, torso and develop power. While learning to engage the core muscles helps us develop, and use balance muscles. 

 

Balance is a crucial element as it pushes athletes to be present. It is exceptionally difficult to maintain balance while looking around or watching things that are moving. Balance is a tool we use a thousand times a day, but we do not think about it. By working on balance, we improve our coordination and self-perception of our surroundings. 

Yoga continues to develop a connection with ourselves while stretching and building muscles through poses that challenge people. One of Yoga’s fundamental points is alignment. With proper alignment, the body can do amazing things. If you take this alignment and put it into another sport or activity and think about alignment, we learn to extend your career and increase productivity and reduce injury. 

 

The PYB class runs between 45 and 55 minutes and runs through the City of Prescott Valley parks and recreation. The class is designed for all levels and is taught using Trauma informed language and techniques in open spaces. This class is $30 for the entire month. The registration closing day is the 7th of each month.

 

This is a good class to learn basic techniques, to take back to other activities, sports, and environments to increase productivity, reduce injury, and learn breath and timing. The online version of this class is available if a registered student lets the instructor know a few days before class, a link will be sent to those students who still want to take the class but can not be at the location.
